Whether it’s after school, or on a no-school day, the Maker Studio at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota is a great place to spark your imagination and make your great ideas come to life. The fall and winter camp schedule is out now and we are exploring a variety of topics!
School Break Camps
The following camps are for children ages 6-12. Camps are drop off and require registration. The cost is $52 each session. Members receive a 20% discount. Bring a sack lunch. Registration is now open!
Steam Camp
Monday, February 21, from 8 am-5 pm
There’s so much to explore with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Make your way through STEAM challenges in both our museum exhibits and the Maker Studio.

DIY Day Camp
Friday, February 25, from 8 am-5 pm
Learn some of the latest DIY techniques as we make a variety of masterpieces with your own unique twist. You bring your imagination, and we’ll supply the rest for projects such as string art, dream catchers, pom-pom wall hangings, and more!

Geometric Art Camp
Friday, March 18, from 8 am-5 pm
Lines. Patterns. Symmetry. What do math and art have in common? Join us for a day of exploring how math concepts help create beautiful masterpieces of art.

Atomic Art Camp

What do art and science have in common? This day camp will combine the experiments of chemistry and aesthetics of art. How will your creations react?

Does your child need a place to go after school? Or perhaps you are looking for a place to spark your child’s imagination? The After School Maker Studio is a flexible, come-and-go experience for children age 5 and up.
The Maker Studio was designed by children for children to inspire all makers. Daily experiences foster creativity, curiosity, and self-expression through a variety of activities including robotics, circuitry, pottery, sculpture, and paint to name a few.
