Whether it’s after school, or on a no-school day, the Maker Studio at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota is a great place to spark your imagination and make your great ideas come to life. The winter camp schedule is out now and we are exploring a variety of topics!
School Break Camps
The following camps are for children ages 6-12. Camps are drop off and require registration. The cost is $60 each session. Members receive a 20% discount. Bring a sack lunch. Registration is now open!

Does your child need a place to go after school? Or perhaps you are looking for a place to spark your child’s imagination? The After School Maker Studio is a flexible, come-and-go experience for children age 5 and up.
The Maker Studio was designed by children for children to inspire all makers. Daily experiences foster creativity, curiosity, and self-expression through a variety of activities including robotics, circuitry, pottery, sculpture, and painting to name a few. Want to tinker? Be part of a team working its way through science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) challenges. Feeling creative? Explore art through a variety of tools and mediums. Every STEAM camp holds a new adventure!

Kindergarten Maker Camps
Play along with us while you are off from school during the Brookings School District Kindergarten Screening days! Cost is $30 per session ($24 members).
Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 1 to 5 pm
Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 8 am to 12 pm
We welcome any currently enrolled JK and Kindergarten (Ages 5-7) students to join us in our Maker Studio for a 1/2 day camp and explore various activities and materials including robotics, circuitry, sculpture, and painting.

Exploring the Studio
Friday, Feb. 16, from 8 am to 5 pm
What inspires your child’s artistic side? Children will discover their muse and explore different ways of representing their inspiration. Will you be a fiber and textile artist, sculptor, painter, collage artist, or mixed media? Hint – you can be more than one!

Gross-ology Day Camp
Monday, Feb. 19, from 8 am to 5 pm
Slurping and burping, the art of farts, big, slimy boogers and more! Got grossbumps? Come join us in this disgusting class filled with all sorts of really gross things!

Friday, March 29, from 8 am to 5 pm
Lights, camera, action! Be part of a grand, one-day production leading to a final performance with an audience. Take on a lead character role, design costumes, build props, or become a director! The choice (and stage) is yours!
