Whether it’s after school, or on a no-school day, the Maker Studio at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota is a great place to spark your imagination and make your great ideas come to life. The winter camp schedule is out now and we are exploring a variety of topics!
School Break Camps
The following camps are for children ages 6-12. Camps are drop off and require registration. The cost is $48 each session. Members receive a 20% discount. Bring a sack lunch. Registration is now open!
Coding Camp
Monday, January 20, from 8 am to 5 pm
Solve a mystery. Conquer a STEM challenge. Design a masterpiece. Animate a robot. This one-day camp will introduce coding through a variety of interactive activities. View the event and register.
Mixed Media Camp
Monday, February 17, from 8 am to 5 pm
Do you have so many art supplies you love that it’s hard to choose just one? Let’s mix things up and use multiple mediums in one art piece! View the event and register.
STEAM Camp
Thursday, March 19, from 8 am to 5 pm
There’s so much to explore with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Make your way through STEAM challenges in both our museum exhibits and the Maker Studio. It’s a new adventure every time! View the event and register.
Abstract Art Camp
Friday, March 20, from 8 am to 5 pm

Does your child need a place to go after school? Or perhaps you are looking for a place to spark your child’s imagination? The After School Maker Studio is a flexible, come and go experience for children age 5 and up.
The Maker Studio was designed by children for children to inspire all makers. Daily experiences foster creativity, curiosity, and self-expression through a variety of activities including robotics, circuitry, pottery, sculpture, and paint to name a few.
