There’s “snow” place like home.

With this recipe, you can bring the snow inside with no fear of making a puddle!

With just two ingredients, you can make your very own snow that you can use to build your very own winter wonderland.

Watch as Lauren demonstrates how to mix up this family-friendly activity and follow the recipe to do it yourself!

Materials Needed:

  • Corn starch
  • Shaving cream foam
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Shallow tin or small plastic bin

Play Accessories

  • Rolling pin
  • Playdough molds
  • Small scoops or spoons
  • Small figurines and toys
  • Toy cars and trucks
  • Pinecones
  • Small stones
  • Dried fruit, such as cranberries

Let’s get started!

In a mixing bowl, combine equal parts corn starch and shaving cream. Mix until you have a snow-like dough. Then it’s time to play, explore your fake snow with cookie cutters, rolling pins, or with just your hands! Add some play accessories listed above, or of your own choosing, to create a beautiful winter landscape. When you’re finished, store it in an airtight container to prevent your snow from drying out.

Take it one step further

When making this recipe again, try experimenting with different amounts of shaving cream to corn starch to create different consistencies of snow.
