As part of our ninth-anniversary celebration, our First Thursday member-only event is going Back to School!
Prior to becoming a museum, our building was home to Central Elementary School. In celebrating those origins, we are going back in time and offering a full schedule of classes in addition to the museum exhibits being open.
Dress in your First Day of School best. There will even be an opportunity to get your school photo taken! Word on the street is that our museum staff will be wearing clothes from their high school years! Consider this a great opportunity to break out that old letter jacket.
Following is the class schedule:
• Science Class: By the fishing pond
• Art Class: Painting on the patio
• School Photos: Central Entrance
• PE Class: Burn off some steam outside next to Tangle Town
• Story Time: Listen and follow along to some great children’s books
• STEAM Class: Maker Studio
Children will receive a Children’s Museum of South Dakota water bottle while supplies last! The cafe will be open from 5-6:30 p.m. with a limited menu. Play Central Toys & Books will be offering members a 20% discount on any purchases made that night.
