Holiday Break Hours
Looking for somewhere warm to blow off steam over the holiday? Play along in all of our museum exhibits!
The museum will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
While the museum is closed on Mondays, we will have a special Monday open on Monday, Dec. 30.
Holiday Break Camps
Day camps for 6-12-year-olds are scheduled during the holiday school breaks. From holiday creations to theater camp, there’s so much to explore in our Maker Studio.

Sensory Friendly Santa
Friday, December 13, 5-8 pm
The museum’s next Sensory Friendly Play will feature a visit from Santa. This event is specially designed for children, adults, and families who will benefit from expanded accessibility and sensory accommodations. All of the museum exhibits will be open, and Santa will be available for one-on-one time and to play in the exhibits with children. Regular admission rates apply.
Breakfast With Santa
Saturday, December 14, SOLD OUT
Two sessions: 8:30 am and 10 am. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and play with elves Jingle and Jangle while enjoying a delicious breakfast from Café Coteau. Reservations go on sale Thursday, Nov. 14. Reservations are required.
Santa Visits the Museum
Tuesday, December 17, 5-6:30 pm
Santa and a few of his elves will be in the museum’s onsite cafe, Café Coteau, on Tuesday, December 17, from 5-6:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public and does not include admission to the museum. Guests are invited to bring their cameras. The Café will also be serving a $5 Community Meal from 4-6:30 pm.
The museum exhibits are open for play until 7 pm (admission required).
Noon Year’s Eve
Tuesday, December 31, 10 am – 5 pm
You don’t have to stay up late to celebrate the New Year! The museum will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. Two countdown confetti drop and dance party sessions will take place on the indoor prairie: one at noon and one at 4 pm.
Make a New Year’s themed party hat, take a photo in the New Year’s photo backdrop, and play in all of the museum exhibits. Regular admission rates apply.
