Children's Museum Offers Free Day of Play
The Children’s Museum of South Dakota celebrates turning six with the annual ‘Free Day of Play’ Sunday, September 11 from 12-5pm. This event allows the Museum to be open to the public at no charge.
“We’ve had a wonderful six years, and we invite one and all to come play and experience the Museum,” Executive Director Kate Treiber said. “It’s our gift back to the community that continues to support us all year long.”
Following the free offering, Museum Members are personally invited to continue the celebration from 5:30-7:30pm. Free food, games, and a quieter Museum experience are provided to members during this time.
“We truly appreciate those families who show support with a membership, and want to provide a little something extra for them as well.” Treiber said.
In addition, the Museum continues to be recognized with the annual Mayoral Proclamation, declaring each September 12 – the actual anniversary of opening – as Children’s Museum of South Dakota Day in the city of Brookings.
No reservations are required for the public or Museum Member event. Further details can be found at www.PrairiePlay.org.
