Celebrate Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota
Saturday, October 6th 1-4pm
Join Nickelodeon, Get Up, Get Out and Go Play during the Worldwide Day of Play.
Now in its ninth year, the Worldwide Day of Play is an entire day dedicated to active play. On Worldwide Day of Play, Nickelodeon goes completely “dark” for three hours, turning off programming to encourage kids to get up, get out and go play! Every year, Worldwide Day of Play is celebrated with more than 5,000 local events in all 50 states and in 20 countries.
The Children’s Museum of South Dakota strongly believes in the power of play and will host special activities during the afternoon of Saturday, October 6th. Museum team members will guide guests through activities like hop scotch, long hang, dancing, jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups and vertical jump to name a few. Every kiddo participating will receive a participation certificate and information about healthy eating choices. The activities are included with the price of admission into the museum.
CMSD has more things happening that day! While you are at the museum, participate in a take home project - pumpkin painting for $2 per pumpkin. Families with toddlers and preschoolers are invited to participate in pumpkin painting during the ‘Play Dates’ class from 10am to 12noon. Families of all ages are invited to paint pumpkins during ‘Saturdays in the Studio’ from 1-4pm.
