Bodogaard Weaves Her Way to the Children's Museum of South Dakota

Date: May 31, 2012

Imagine using bugs and plants to dye fabrics. Imagine weaving something that’s unique to you. Imagine making felt and using it to create a pizza or a snake. Imagine weaving a bracelet that glows in the dark. Imagine! Come join the fun at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota!

Artist-in-residence Grete Bodøgaard is hosting one, two, three or four day camps for children ages 6-12 to learn hands-on the fun of weaving and felting.

A renowned artist, Grete immigrated to the United States from Norway with her spinning wheels, yarn and looms in l969. Currently a resident of Volin, South Dakota, Grete has held residencies in schools across the state working with students K-12. Her weavings have been commissioned throughout the Midwest, and her work has been on exhibit in South Dakota, Portland, New York, Alaska, Norway, and Australia.
